Ted Stevens, Senator from the fine state of Alaska, which gives us crabs and Graham, has no idea how the Internet functions. And when I say “no idea,” I don’t mean he gets the basic stuff but doesn’t understand IP subclasses and TCP port forwarding. I mean he literally thinks there are “tubes” that carry […]

This guy seriously needs a girlfriend and a drink.
I haven’t seen Superman Returns yet. It may be the biggest piece of crap ever. But most reviewers don’t seem to think so. According to Google, the average rating is a 3.5/5, and the Positive-Neutral-Negative breakdown is (14-5-5). Some are calling it the best Superman ever, […]

Is Rory Scovel the funniest man alive? Yes. Should you go see every show he ever does? Yes. Does Rory pay me to say these things? Yes. But that’s not why I say them. I say them because he’s dying. He doesn’t have much time left. Go enjoy his comedy before he leaves this mortal […]

I discovered heart-breaking news today, but Wes saved my outlook on life.
Last week I discovered Eagles of Death Metal and have been listening to them a lot (especially Miss Alissa and Stuck In The Metal). It’s also well known that I enjoy Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Cake, and Jet. I am well aware […]

Let’s play a game where we will choose quotes from prominent news figures and then guess what issue they were referring to.
“I’ve never seen anything like it[. The practice is] a grave threat to our constitutional system of checks and balances.” (Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT), 6/27/2006)
Is he referring to:
“Activist judges” allowing gay marriage
President […]

Luckily I don’t usually have to take it in the mornings. Every day, I turn from 650 onto 495 W/ 95N and I see mile after mile of 5 lanes of unmoving traffic facing me. Meanwhile I fly through and onto the northward leg of my journey. Most days, the backup extends onto the first […]

So today started off a bit rough with more torrential downpours and other assorted nonsense. But I got the car serviced - the chairs at British American are so comfortable I almost asked them to double check everything at the end to steal a few more minutes of half-sleep.
Then came the game. I’m going […]

Ok, that’s a tough way to lose, but coming in as a sub in the last minutes of the game and drawing the (disputed) penalty kick in the last 10 seconds of stoppage… just wow. It was a great game all around, and both sides showed a lot of sportsmanship in a physical contest.

Well folks, with less than 17 minutes until the kickoff of the Italy/ Australia Round of 16 match, my loyalties are strained. On the one hand, I’ve never cheered for a team to beat Italy in the history of the World Cup. It hasn’t happened. It can’t happen. I remember the Baggio kick in ‘94. […]

I’m inclined to think Al Gore wasn’t exaggerating with all that talk of climate change and swarms of locusts. I mean, over the last week, we’ve gone from “severe drought” to Patkai monsoon level with explosive thunderstorms every night. Usually thunderstorms in the area rumble and bumble but are never severe or close enough to […]
