A few observations from today.
I take fewer pictures when I’m with Nicole because we’re talking the whole time. The conversations are worth the lack of photos, but I need to develop an immunity and keep shooting.
The National Building Museum is deceivingly non-descript from the outside, which belies the incredible atrium/chamber/whatever. I know that […]

I just got done with a 3 hour and 5 minute phone call. Now, granted, it was free (nights & weekends) and it was project-oriented. But man, three hours is a long time for one phone call. I am exhausted. Also, tomorrow, I am going to that museum with Nicole and we’re actually going to […]

Today started earlier than it should have considering I went to sleep around 4:15 am. Around 9:40 I woke up to bright sunshine and immediately thought I had missed the whole day. Rather, I had plenty of time to get up and start reading the news when Nicole called and said she was waiting at […]

I’ve eaten much better food than this. Much better. I could list a dozen places off the top of my head - Five Guys, Zaytinya, Mongolian Grill - hell, last night I had steamed snow crab legs, steak, and salad at home. So what made today so tasty? An assortment of ordinary foods that just […]

How come you can give one gift as a couple, but you can’t just give a couple one gift in return? Women seem to do this, but they wouldn’t like it if it happened in reverse.
Sarah: Well, thank you so much for the lovely sweater. Here, I got you and Jake something, too.
Katelyn: Oh […]

This is a screenshot of the site from Flock - only so I could get a fresh view of the polls - so Judy can see that there is in […]

It’s good to be back. I watched the movies last night, then some Arrested Development today between working on a project and going grocery shopping. Then we went to the basketball game, where Maryland beat VT 81 - 72, and then back to the apartment where Judy gave me Christmas/birthday gift of Soul Music by […]

So unbeknownst to me, The Mighty Ducks Boxed Set arrived on Wednesday. I didn’t find out until I checked Amazon (delivery estimate: Jan 23 - 25) and then went downstairs and retrieved it. These movies are fantastic. There isn’t a hockey player in America who doesn’t at least know the whole story, on the off-chance […]

I’m actually joking. I imagine this week sucks for him.
For those of you who don’t follow the minutiae of Washington journalism, Jim Brady is executive editor of washingtonpost.com. Earlier this week, Deborah Howell wrote an article about the Jack Abramoff issue, and one sentence apparently outraged a lot of people. I’ve been following it […]

Tonight was crazy at Topaz. It was wall-to-wall packed before I even got there at 8. The host was a British professor at American University (I don’t have the roll call but I’ll get it from Curt) named Chris Palmer. His dry wit and accent gave the show a classy feel. Ryan Conner returned from […]
