In what is sure to be a mass-media, viral infection of the flavor of the day, iTunes is letting people download the video short “Lazy Sunday” from SNL last week for free. It’s a rap video starring Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg in which they discuss going to see The Chronicles of Narnia. Here’s a […]

So tonight I hearkened back to my roots and left work early to head down to DC and catch two hours of free stand-up comedy at Topaz.
Correction - I left work early to give Rebecca her Christmas present because Doran couldn’t go down to DC so I didn’t have to leave as early. She made […]

It’s bad enough that the damn thing doesn’t even pay attention to the Web Standards and has ActiveX security holes bigger than Rosie O’Donnell’s lace… curtains. I discovered today that IE messes up two parts of my site. First, because I haven’t put a full portfolio together, http://www.andylopresto.com is blank - it just has a […]

The pictures from the lake the other day turned out nicely. It was sunny and close to 45 F so the snow was starting to melt but the lake was still a solid sheet of ice. The rest of the pictures are here, including a couple shots of the tree.

Barnes & Noble are having their post-holiday sale (though it’s still Kwanzaa and Hannukah to my knowledge) and you can pick up some great prices on books. I ordered four the other day for between $11 - $16 each. Books by Feynman are great presents for your physics major friend.
You know, I’m sure someone else […]

I’ve never been one to eschew technology.
Since the age of 3 - when according to a family friend I explained to him the rudiments of a CPU - to my middle school science project - a pressure-sensitive VCR that paused your movie when you got up to get popcorn and resumed when you sat back […]

Google Sitemaps is a new beta service which allows you to better control how Google indexes your website. It’s pretty useful and had rapid effects, at least for me. To effectively organize the site, a sitemap file (XML) holds an index of your pages, which Google then analyzes and performs various statistical reviews on. There […]

We don’t just spread democracy and freedom, we spread health advice. Forcefully!
Return of the ‘I-Word’
“‘Watch what you eat, and start getting some exercise and cutting down on the number of work hours,’ Bush urged the ex-general [Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon], known for his considerable girth and long days on the job. Bush is known […]
